I stopped very early one morning at the Hollyburn Club in West Vancouver. It was very cold, icy and slippery, but, I managed to get up on one of the decks (I am a member, so it was OK) and took these shots.

21st Anniversary

Yesterday was our 21st anniversary. Here is a short slideshow of some shots I took at Granville Island and the restaurant Dockside where we had a wonderful dinner. It was a great evening and you can read about it here on my blog.

Playing with motion

We lined up in two facing rows, creating a corridor for Val and Steph to run and jump through. Our job was to pan and capture their motion using various camera settings.

Water

One of our assignments was to shoot water and experiment with depth of field and, particularly, freezing the motion of water.

Capturing True Emotion

To inaugurate this photoblog, it seem apt to begin with some photos I took while attending my first photography workshop called Capturing True Emotion. After four hours of instruction we embarked on a two hour photo safari to try out what we had learned and get further instruction. We worked through ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed and after shooting A, S, and P, we landed in Manual Mode.

Here are some shots of our instructors, Val Westover and Stephanie Adriana.
